Dear Resident,

On Sunday 20 September 2026, the Auckland Duathlon Championships, including the New Zealand National Duathlon Championships and National School Championships, will take place in Māngere Bridge. The cycle course will use Kiwi Esplanade and surrounding roads as per the approved Traffic Management Plan. (See map below)

 To help ensure the safety of competitors, spectators and the public, temporary traffic controls and restricted vehicle movements will be in place during the event period. The first races are expected to begin in the morning, with activity concluding around midday.

 Parking

There will be no on-road parking on the racecourse or in any signed restricted areas during the event timeframe. Please remove vehicles from affected areas before event operations begin.

 Property Access

Residents will continue to have access to their properties. Traffic management staff will assist vehicle movements when safe to do so. If you need to travel through the event area during race hours, please speak with onsite traffic management staff before entering the course. They will advise the safest time and direction to move through the area. Please take extra care, watch for cyclists, and follow all instructions from onsite traffic management personnel.  Thank you for helping us keep everyone safe.

 Public Transport

For the safety of all road users, local bus stop locations and timetable services through the immediate event area may be temporarily altered during the event period. Please check with Auckland Transport closer to the event for the latest service information.

 Get Involved

This is your local community event, and we would love locals to be part of it. Entries are open for individuals and teams, and volunteers are always welcome. Whether you race, support, marshal or cheer from the roadside, your involvement helps make the event special.
